Transport and storing - due to the unique formulation Virkill powder can be transported as air cargo and can be stored for longer periods of time.


Virkill oxidizes sulfur bridges in proteins, enzymes and other metabolites, disrupts the function of the celmembrane and causes the leakage of the cell wall. There is no evidence that bacteria develop resistance against Virkill as is expected in other disinfectants. 
Virkill is a balanced, stabilized blend of peroxide, surfactants, organic acids and an inorganic buffer system. 

Safety, Health and Environment


Virkill is an oxidation-based disinfectant that contains singular organic salts and organic acids. The active ingredient in Virkill breaks down through different ways in the environment, soil and water to singular harmless compounds, potassium salt and oxygen. 

75% of the ingredients in Virkill are inorganic, which break down in the environment to naturally occurring singular inorganic salts. The remaining organic components are classified as quickly biodegradable according to standard OECD and EU tests. 

Virkill is, according to the European standard for classification and labeling of chemicals (R53), not classified as persistent in the environment.

Independent studies have shown that Virkill in solution has no effect on the operation of a wastewater treatment plant. 

Independent studies according to the guidelines of the OECD and EU indicate that concentrated Virkill powder shows no visible effects of acute toxicity when exposed to skin or by ingestion. 
Virkill is not classified as harmful or toxic according to European standards for classification and labeling of chemicals. 

In tests done according to the OECD and EU directives, a 1% Virkill solution will not irritate eyes or skin.

Surface Disinfection
The number of pathogenic organisms that is still present after standard cleaning can be high enough for a serious threat to livestock.
